Job Summary
The Children's Centers has an exciting opportunity available for an Administrative Assistant. In this role, you will support the center administrators and teachers. Reporting to the Administrative Services Manager, you will help maintain an inclusive and welcoming environment for center staff, families, and U-M students.
Responsibilities*
- Provide front desk coverage by greeting and assisting parents, visitors, and staff, responding to inquiries and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
- Collect and organize essential information/paperwork from families, employees and practicum students/observers
- Undertake administrative tasks in support of the Children's Centers; including document creation, updating and organizing
- Order and reconcile supply purchases
- Submit and track building maintenance work orders
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure overall success of center operations

Required Qualifications*
- High school or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2 years experience in an administrative support or similar position
- Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills including experience handling and resolving email and phone inquiries
- Demonstrated moderate competency with Microsoft Office applications and Google Suite
Modes of Work
Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

Work Schedule
Monday through Friday during hours of center operations. Specific schedule to be determined by manager and you. There may be opportunities for flexible/non-standard work scheduling such as (4),10-hour days.
