Job Description
The Director of Product Governance will represent product management and development in firm-wide initiatives, actively participating in the product team effort to maintain and improve the product line-up.You will have regular exposure to the heads of Investment Management, General Counsels Organization, Operations, and Risk in order to facilitate changes to investment products and will be a structural expert in vehicles for delivery of investment strategies, including mutual funds, variable products, ETFs and closed-end funds.
Key Responsibilities
- Serving as the Secretary of the Columbia Threadneedle Product Advisory Committee (PAC)
- Participating in business management issues, such as 15C/pricing decisions
- Hosting a monthly product change/new product implementation meeting communicating and coordinating changes to existing products and new fund launches.
- Ownership of all Product team process documents, including Product Management and Development Routines, PAC Charter, Committee Stakeholder readiness documents
- Managing team preparation for the Investment Oversight Committee and the Columbia Funds Board
- The candidate will carry a high visibility role in exercises such as Portfolio Manager changes and product management's response to regulatory actions
Some examples of governance responsibilities include:
- Working with finance to manage revenue impacts in advance of strategy changes or product rationalizations
- Owning the process of implementing and communicating portfolio manager changes
- Managing product responsibilities for share class consolidations/additions, share class splits/reverse splits, fund mergers, product name changes, benchmark adds/changes, modifications to investment mandates, and ETF conversions
- Coordinating with 5P and Investment Risk Management as appropriate for fund actions, including strategy changes/modifications
- Working with product development industry developments, understanding new vehicles and complex securities
- Managing the internal seed deployment/return process for NA Product
- Represent the Product team in the continued development/ expansion of Product Master
Requirements
- Ability to influence and collaborate with or lead across the organization and at all levels to drive results.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills using data to identify trends and issues and potential ways to solve the issue.
- Experience with assigned product including understanding of compliance rules and regulations for product and industry.
- A solid understanding of concepts related to assigned product and ability to explain these to others.
- Project management experience.
- Series 7 (or SIE and Series 7 top off exam) and 66 (or 63 & 65 combined) or the ability to obtain within a defined period of time.

Base Pay Salary
The estimated base salary for this role is $147,400 - $180,100 per year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
