Job Summary
As the Manager of Exploratory Product Development, you'll lead a team focused on advancing products that power the future of gene and cell therapy. You'll be at the forefront of developing critical reagents like antibodies, cell isolation kits, and cell culture media that are essential to groundbreaking therapeutic breakthroughs.
In this role, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams-including Manufacturing, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and HR-to drive continuous improvement, uphold the highest product quality standards, and deliver outstanding customer service and technical support.
Essential Functions

- Manage and inspire the Exploratory PD group, ensuring successful development of new products under ISO9001:2008/ISO13485:2016 standards
- Oversee the optimization and troubleshooting of existing products and processes, ensuring peak performance and scientific excellence
- Stay ahead of industry trends and integrate the latest scientific research to support the creation of innovative new products
- Present experimental results, progress, and strategies to key stakeholders through engaging presentations and reports
- Develop and maintain SOPs, WIs, and other documentation that meets ISO and regulatory requirements while ensuring team compliance
- Mentor your team, identify future leaders, and support the professional development of each team member
- Work seamlessly with internal teams like Manufacturing, Quality Control, and HR to ensure alignment with business strategy and continuous improvement
- Uphold the highest standards of health, safety, and product quality, ensuring compliance across all operational activities
- Other projects or responsibilities as may be required
Minimum Qualifications - Education and Experience
- PhD in Immunology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry or related scientific field
- 3+ years of progressive leadership experience
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with in depth, working knowledge of technology, procedures, assay, and equipment used in cell analysis, primary cell isolation, and cultures
Preferred Qualifications - Education and Experience
- 5+ years of progressive leadership experience
- Strong leadership skills including people management, time management, and project management
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
- Understanding and working knowledge of cGMP and ISO13485 guideline as well as quality management systems
- Experience in Gene & Cell Therapy ancillary reagent industry
- Proven history of effective People and Project Management
The base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000 - 150,000. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for a new hire in this position. The base pay actually offered to the successful candidate will take into account internal equity, work location, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that base pay is only one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This range allows for the successful candidate to have an opportunity to progress within the position and develop at our company. This base pay range does not take into account bonuses, equity, or other benefits which may be applicable and are dependent on the level and position offered.
