The Job:
-The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining software and hardware with up-to-date security patches and ensuring systems are optimized for efficiency and productivity.
-This role includes on/off-boarding employees, managing Active Directory, and collaborating with the IT Support Specialist to resolve IT tickets promptly while providing exceptional customer service.
- The Systems Administrator will also work closely with the IT Manager to evaluate, implement, and manage new software and hardware solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Manage vendor relationships and payments for services.
- Additionally, the position requires supporting users across all company locations, both in-person and remotely.
Responsibilities:
-Resolve IT tickets for all company users.
-Maintain all hardware and software with the latest updates and security patches.
-Write and update documentation for systems, processes, and best practices.
-Vet and implement new software and hardware solutions.
-Audit existing software and hardware to reduce costs and optimize efficiency.
-Manage onboarding and offboarding processes for employees, ensuring seamless transitions.
-Proactively monitor system health and security, addressing vulnerabilities as needed.
-Collaborate with other IT staff to troubleshoot and resolve escalated issues.
-Ensure compliance with company policies and IT standards.
Skills:
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of hands-on IT support and systems administration experience.
- Proficiency with the following tools and platforms:
? Jamf Pro, Jamf Connect, and Jamf Trust for Mac management.
? Active Directory for user accounts.
? Google Workspace for user accounts, web and mobile apps.
- Strong understanding of Windows, macOS, and Linux environments.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve complex issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities effectively.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Desired
- Experience with scripting languages: Bash, Python, PowerShell, and AppleScript.
- Experience with monitoring tools like Nagios XI.
- Familiarity with IT security best practices and CIS framework.
- Experience with SaaS platforms and identity management (Google Workspace).
- Experience with Cisco Email Security Appliance and Cisco Cloud Email and Web Manager, ZenDesk
- IT asset management tools such as Samanage (Solarwinds)
