The Liquidity Management Group is looking for a highly motivated individual with financial services industry, data processing, stress testing, and financial analysis experience to support enterprise-wide liquidity analysis with a focus on deposits.
The Liquidity Management Group is part of Corporate Treasury within Wells Fargo Corporate Finance and is responsible for analysis and management of liquidity risk across the enterprise and all related reporting to WFC Senior Management, the Board of Directors, and Regulators. This position provides a unique opportunity to gain a thorough understanding of Wells Fargo’s balance sheet and various business lines while adding value to the company’s risk management practices.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Completing thoughtful data and statistical analysis to inform refinement of existing stress testing assumptions
- Executing stress tests of the Company's deposits, which can cover idiosyncratic, systematic or other stress factors
- Preparing additional ad-hoc analyses/presentations and completing special projects
- Providing complex financial analysis and researching in support of liquidity planning
- Developing and maintaining appropriate documentation for assumptions, methodologies, and ad-hoc analysis while adhering to the enterprise model risk governance requirements
- Enhancing the firm’s crisis management capabilities related to liquidity
- Assisting in the production of Recovery and Resolution-related liquidity stress tests
- Identifying and implementing solutions related to complex liquidity issues and contribute to on-going strategic decisions at various levels
- Working with business units to identify strategies that mitigate liquidity risk as well as substantiating liquidity stress testing assumptions, serving as the subject matter expert regarding liquidity regulations and stress testing methodologies
- Manage data processes to support compliance with regulations on liquidity management and stress testing, ensuring data quality and appropriate governance
- Assist in the development, maintenance and execution of Governance & Oversight framework documentation and controls including reconciliation and variance analysis
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record of attention to detail, and critical thinking. They will possess excellent communication (speaking, writing and PowerPoint) and organization skills, with the proven ability to develop cross-functional relationships and the capability to manage to deadlines. She/he will be able to work independently, be highly organized, able to prioritize multiple tasks, and take on new challenges.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of Treasury experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- 5+ years of experience working at a financial institution
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, database querying and creating ad hoc reporting results using SQL or similar querying methods
- Knowledge and understanding of financial analysis, forecasting and analyzing interest income and balance sheet behavior
- Experience with general ledgers and accounting policies
- Experience in bank liquidity analysis and research of balance sheet components, including liquidity stress tests
- Ability to exercise independent judgment to identify and resolve problems
- Experience with financial models especially in areas of documentation and governance
- Experience with governance and oversight requirements for regulatory and risk reporting
- Knowledge and understanding of Liquidity based regulatory reporting requirements: FR2052A (“6G”), Liquidity Coverage Ratio, Net Stable Funding Ratio and/or Contingency Funding Plan
- Experience with financial systems project development and user acceptance testing
- Comfort with defined and undefined responsibilities which may evolve over time
