Job Description:
Apex Systems is looking to hire an ONSITE Logistics Engineer for our client based out of Macungie, PA.
Responsibilities:
- Define the Plan for Every Part (PFEP) for a product introduction.
- Collaborate with the Production Engineer team to deliver workstation designs for all production and kitting stations at factory or warehouse locations.
- Ensure logistics preparation readiness for current serial production as well as future factory and warehouse kitting/sequencing design.
- Define kitting and sequencing areas and manpower needs.
- Secure interface between Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Material Handling, and all related departments to define the best processes together with Kanban, Batch & Synchronous flows responsible.
- Create future and update current workstation layouts with detailed information for each part number (delivery method, location, quantity at the station).
- Execute LE-PFEP serial production and project support activities.
- Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of material handling and logistics.
- Skills in flow design and implementation (including manning calculation and equipment).
- Skills in kitting and sequencing process and area design.
- Proficient in oral and written communications.
- Working knowledge of project management techniques.
- Lean manufacturing experience is a strong advantage.
- Basic Six Sigma understanding is a strong advantage.
- Logistics packaging knowledge is a strong advantage.
- Expertise in Material Management Systems and/or the ability to learn quickly enough to train others.
