Job Description
The Manager – Quality Assurance is responsible for managing and directing the quality assurance activities for the plant to include syrup preparation and distribution, microbiology, sanitation, finished product analysis, package integrity testing, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACPP)/Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and process control.
What your day will look like:
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the UNITED policies and applicable laws
- Interview, hire, and train associates
- Plan, assign, and direct work
- Appraise performance
- Address complaints and resolve problems
- Builds positive associate morale
- Ensures local, state, federal, and Coca-Cola quality standards are met for products produced by the facility
- Oversees and directs the efforts of the plant Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACPP) plan, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) development, auditing, and corrective action plan development
- Investigates, reports, and formulates corrective action plans on plant specific consumer complaints, food safety complaints and complaint trends
- Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems
- Performs appropriate duties as assigned by management
What you need to succeed:
- Minimum age 18 years old
- Valid driver’s license required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
- Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
- Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
- Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Proven ability to coach and manage needs and concerns of multiple associates
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or 3 to 5 year’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two to four (2-4) years’ prior supervisory experience in manufacturing environment
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Knowledge of current Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACPP) / Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS) regulations
- Working knowledge of lab equipment
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 100 lbs.
- Frequent exposure to water
