The Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) department is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager 2 to join our team based out of Linthicum, or Annapolis Junction, MD.
What You'll Get To Do:
This is a dual-role technical manager position. Management duties will require tasking and coordination of approximately 8-15 engineers, and process and resource coordination with functional homeroom management. The manager will also be expected to perform technical work on programs. It is anticipated that given the size of the functional team, the split between program and functional duties will be approximately 80/20, on average. The direct program work may include technical work, IPT leadership, or any other appropriate technical function.
Key roles and responsibilities include:
• Execute in a direct contributor role on the program as a system, software, hardware, or test engineer, or as an architect.
• Work with team technical leads and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to define requirements and develop Agile program plans.
• Work in cooperation with Agile Scrum master to track execution and provide technical leadership to the team.
• Work with program management and technical leads to capture staffing needs.
• Work with Talent Acquisition, technical staff, and functional management to screen candidates, set up interviews, collect feedback, and assist in determining whether to make offers.
• Administrative management responsibilities including technical tasking, performance evaluation, career development, and salary planning.
This position requires work onsite in either Linthicum, MD or Annapolis Junction, MD facilities.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 8+ years of experience (or Master of Science degree plus 3+ years of experience) in engineering, and/or engineering program.
• Demonstrated strong leadership qualities, including excellent communication and collaboration, team engagement, and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to support and lead engineering organization efforts aimed towards skill and career development; performance assessment, continuous improvement; and growth.
• Experience supporting electrical test or research lab activities.
• Familiarity in leading small teams.
• Experience in systems development, integration, and test.
• This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with poly clearance per business requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree in engineering, Engineering Leadership, or equivalent.
• 12 years of experience in a multi-disciplined engineering environment.
• Demonstrated success leading high performance teams as technical, integrated product team, and/or functional leader.
• Risk and Opportunity Management experience.
• Experience developing system requirements, verification plans, and reports.
• Active TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance.

Salary Range: $149,400 - $234,700
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
