Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Marine Technical Advisor & Instructor to join our Marine team in Kennesaw, GA. The Technical Advisor & Instructor will provide timely and effective technical and administrative assistance to Yamaha outboard dealers and Yamaha outboard retail customers. The Technical Advisor & Instructor will instruct outboard marine technicians on a rotating schedule. This position requires broad knowledge and technical expertise in advance training technologies.
What you'll be doing:
- Retrieve inbound phone calls from Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) that are offered from Yamaha Outboard dealers. Document precisely, the required retail customer and dealer contacts, within the Seibel call management program (YWMS).
- Provide advice and assistance as requested from another Technical Specialist.
- Provide warranty authorizations and claim assistance to Marine dealers.
- Assist with the arbitration of dealer and retail customer request, including the authorization of customer assistance.
- Interface with other Marine Group personnel as needed to assist in the decision-making process for determining product assistance.
- Evaluate dealer request for field service assistance and forward request to regional service manager as requested.
- Develop and instruct training courses in the classroom and lab environment (i.e., delivery, testing, grading and reporting). Maintain safety and security of classroom, lab facilities and training aids / engine simulators.
What you need to be successful:
- High School Diploma or equivalent Marine industry Service certifications; Associates degree is preferred.
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of Marine industry retail or service experience.
- Record of providing superior customer service on technical issues at a dealership, another division within Yamaha Motor Corporation or a boat builder is preferred.
- Must have a proven record of good administrative skills, adequate writing skills, and be able to utilize computers and business software.
- Experience in creating and presenting material in a classroom environment would be preferred.
