Job Summary
The Operations Specialist will support the day-to-day operations of the exams processing functions in the operations department, including planning workflow and external support requirements, and tracking scoring metrics and compliance with SLAs for results turnaround. This position will provide guidance to the operations associate position(s) in the same department for all exams processing activities.
Responsibilities*
- Lead in executing administrative activities required for test scoring, including coordinating 3rd party support services, leading on hiring and training external rating staff according to organizational specifications, creating work assignments and providing support to external rating staff for operational and technical questions.
- Conduct activities for test security such as: test administration audits, test taker registration reviews, and test scoring and analysis. Provide administrative support for committee meetings and irregularity review tracking.
- Assist with investigation of instances of nonconforming test delivery. Support executing corrective actions as directed.
- Ensure compliance with SLAs for results distribution by managing materials status for all material returns from centers, delivery status for digital test delivery, and monitoring workflow through all exams processing phases.
- Provide frequent reporting of exams processing metrics and identify areas for continuous improvement. Lead on agreed-upon implementations, as required.
- Supervise exam results preparation activities for publishing in print and electronic format, ensuring all quality control measures are executed. Ensure all reprint and result verifications requests are handled in a timely, accurate, and secure manner.

Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Ability to build positive professional relationships
- Excellent time-management skills
- Well-developed analytical, planning, and organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to cultivate and manage relationships with external stakeholders
- Advanced-level attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook)
- The ability to learn additional computer-based programs
- Experience working with data/content management systems
- Experience in an operations support role, preferably in a high transaction volume environment
Desired Qualifications*
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or similar CRM applications
- Background/interest in assessment or, publishing
- Familiar with high-stakes assessment
- Supervisory experience
Work Locations
Michigan Language Assessment is seeking candidates located in or around Ann Arbor and supports a fully remote work from home schedule with occasionally scheduled in person activities.
Modes of Work
Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.
Additional Information
This position is term-limited for up to one year, with the intent to reevaluate for potential extension.
