Job Description:
Apex Systems is seeking Lab Technicians for our client for their R&D Lab Projectin the Pittsburgh Area. If interested & open to entry level opportunity.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support R&D of process and product through testing and measurements with existing equipment
- Perform upgrades and basic maintenance of lab equipment and instrumentation
- Help design and develop new measurement and characterization methods including software development for data acquisition
- Hands on fabrication and assembly of new and novel equipment and instrumentation for process and product characterization
- Assist with planning, coordinating, executing, documenting, and communicating results from complex experiments both in the lab and at production facilities
Desired Skills/Experience:
- Experience supporting and maintaining R&D equipment and instruments.
- Knowledge and proficiency in basic electrical circuitry and design with active components
- Skilled in the use of testing equipment, instrumentation tools, and mechanical systems.
- Strong background in computers and hardware
- Experience in writing robust code in one or more of Python, C, C++, LabVIEW
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Aptitude and willingness to perform hands-on laboratory work, and accurately document procedures and results
- Adhere to safe work practices and compliance with all environmental, health, safety and security protocols
- Able to come up to speed quickly and perform effectively on new projects or those the incumbent has not worked on for some time
Education:
- Associates Degree or higher in Physics, Electrical Engineering (Technology), or Instrumentation Technology
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
