Senior Associate, Corporate Responsibility and New York Life Foundation Communications

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Associate, Corporate Responsibility and New York Life Foundation Communications, to join our team. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing external and internal communications strategies related to the company's corporate responsibility and philanthropic efforts. New York Life's Corporate Responsibility initiatives includesustainability reporting and strategy, disaster relief, and the award-winning Volunteers for Good program, which helps New York Life employees and agents nationwide volunteer within their communities. The New York Life Foundation devotes the majority of its funding each year to educational enhancement in middle school and childhood bereavement. The ideal candidate will be passionate about sustainability, philanthropy, brand communications, and making a positive social impact.

Role Responsibilities

  • As a member of the Corporate Communications team, serve as the primary business partner to New York Life's Corporate Responsibility function and the New York Life Foundation.
  • Develop and execute external and internal communication strategies that help demonstrate how the company makes a positive social impact through its corporate responsibility and philanthropic efforts.
  • Create compelling content that highlights corporate responsibility and philanthropic initiatives, including press releases, reports, articles, leadership messages, and social media posts.
  • Partner with New York Life Foundation nonprofit partners to amplify the reach of their content.
  • Serve as the primary media contact for corporate responsibility and philanthropy. Cultivate relationships with journalists and influencers to promote our initiatives and respond to inquiries.
  • Design and manage campaigns to promote employee engagement with volunteerism and giving campaigns.
  • Contribute relevant content to corporate reports as required.
  • Support internal communications for the Corporate Events team.
  • Leverage feedback, best practices, and expertise to provide best-in-class communications support, including the testing, learning and onboarding of new GenAI capabilities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Corporate Communications, including Corporate Design, Editorial, Digital, Video/Meetings, and Employee Social Engagement.

Required Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of corporate communications experience, preferably in a Fortune 500 company and/or communications agency, handling both external and internal communications.
  • Expert and proactive client relationship manager, with experience providing advice and counsel to senior stakeholders.
  • Collaborative team player with executive presence and successful experience participating in high-profile cross-functional projects.
  • Knowledge of corporate responsiblitiy and corporate philanthropy topics.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent writing, listening, presentation and communications skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism or related field.
  • Hybrid environment: Office Tuesday through Thursday, working from home Mondays and Fridays.

Pay Transparency

Salary Range:$95,000-$145,000

Overtime eligible:Exempt

Discretionary bonus eligible:Yes

Sales bonus eligible:No

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
