Job Description:We are seeking a multi-functional Software Developer with a strong background in System Administration to join our virtualized infrastructure support team. The ideal candidate will work closely with development teams to create virtualized delivery packages for use in various environments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop customized software packages to facilitate automated delivery of new releases and updates in virtual machines.
2. Automate deployment of 3rd party software, OS, platform, and application security fixes and upgrades.
3. Streamline the release process for virtualized environments.
4. Create programs that validate and process multiple inputs, including command line arguments, environmental variables, and input streams.
5. Write technical documentation and procedures.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system efficiency and security.
Required Skills and Experience:
1. Proficiency in programming languages: Java, JavaScript, C++, C#, Perl, Python, PowerShell, VMware PowerCLI, and Shell scripting
2. Experience in modern operating system administration (Windows 11, Windows Server 2016 or higher, Linux)
3. Knowledge of DISA STIG security process and Windows group policy
4. Experience with computer networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS)
5. Expertise in building and administering virtual environments (VMware ESXi/vSphere, VMware Workstation, Microsoft Hyper-V)
6. Experience with Cisco networking hardware or equivalent, including routing and switching concepts
7. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
8. Excellent communication and documentation abilities
Required (Core) Qualifications:
1. US Citizenship
2. Active Secret (or interim) clearance with ability to obtain a T5 investigation clearance
3. CompTIA Security+ CE certification
4. Minimum 5 years of demonstrated professional experience in solving various levels of technical problems
5. Experience in DoD Business IT supply, logistics, maintenance, and/or personnel administration systems for aviation, afloat, or shore activities
6. Knowledge of IEEE 15288 and IEEE 12207-2017 standards
Preferred Skills:
1. Familiarity with DoD software development practices
2. Experience with automation and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
3. Knowledge of cloud computing platforms and technologies
