About This Job

Air and Space Force Solutions, a business unit within BAE Systems, has an opening at our Hill Air Force Base, Utah location for a Senior Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO). The selected candidate will join our Information Services team and have an important role in supporting our mission of Strategic Deterrence through continual improvement and innovation. The position will have the following duties and responsibilities:
  • Responsible for supporting adherence to all aspects of a rigorous Risk Managed Framework (RMF) compliance program, as stipulated by JSIG, STIGs and associated NIST publications
  • Maintains all Information Assurance compliance needs for the programs, as well as collaborating with other security teams to ensure consistent operations across the function
  • Work directly with the discipline leads and their teams to accomplish compliance goals
  • May serve as a backup for other Information Systems Security Managers
  • Perform RTGs and POA&M reviews
  • Work with system or application owners regarding remediation
  • Support adhoc questions and other tasks as assigned

Clearance Requirement
This position requires an active final Secret clearance upon hire date. The applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance. An active Top Secret clearance is preferred.

Certification Requirement
The applicant must meet DoD 8570.01-M IAM Level II or higher certification requirements on hire date.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Education and Experience Requirements for this Position

  • High School Diploma and 18+ years of relevant experience, or
  • BS/BA Degree and 14+ years of relevant experience, or
  • MS/MA Degree and 12+ years of relevant experience
  • Educational degree should typically be in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technologies, etc.
  • Experience as an ISSO and ISSM using the RMF
  • Experience or knowledge of Cybersecurity, networks, system components, system protocols, commercial hardware and software products, and software development
  • Experience developing external customer relationships and ability to communicate cybersecurity concepts and requirements with senior leaders
  • Effective organizational, time management, and communications skills (written and verbal)

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Working knowledge of system functions, security policies, technical security safeguards, and operational security measures
  • Experience auditing (Splunk) and certifying compliance of various systems (Windows, Linux, Network Devices and peripherals)
  • Experience developing and delivering IA-related briefings and training material
  • Translate operational requirements into technical requirements and architectures needed to meet program objectives
  • Experience conducting all aspects of a self-inspection


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $120000 - $204000

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
