Location: Onsite - McLean, VA
Position Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Engineer with strong experience in AWS Cloud Automation. This role involves designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based database systems, leveraging automation, scalability, and reliability. Key Responsibilities:
- Database Management: Design, implement, and maintain cloud-based databases such as AWS Aurora, MongoDB Atlas, DocumentDB, Neptune, DynamoDB, and ElasticCache using AWS services.
- Cloud Automation: Develop automation workflows for provisioning, configuration, backups, patching, and scaling using tools like AWS CloudFormation, AWS Lambda, Step Functions, and Python.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Use IaC tools (AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, Rafay) to manage infrastructure as code.
- Database Performance Tuning: Demonstrate expertise in one or more database technologies, focusing on performance tuning aspects of databases and SQL queries.
- Database Architecture and Engineering: Apply strong skills in database architecture and engineering.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience (required).
- Extensive PostgreSQL experience, including architecture, internals, and best practices.
- Proven database design, development, and optimization skills.
- Effective troubleshooting and resolution of PostgreSQL issues.
- Experience with AWS Aurora management, monitoring, and performance optimization.
- Strong understanding of AWS ecosystem and automation tools.
- Proficient in database administration, including performance monitoring, backup and recovery, and security management.
- Preferable experience with Oracle and MongoDB.
- Expertise in database migration strategies using AWS DMS services.
- Familiarity with tools for migrating data between different database systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated, driven, and creative.
