Our competitive compensation and benefit programs reflect Boehringer Ingelheim's high regard for our employees.

Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join the New Biological Entity Pharmacokinetics (NBE-PK) Group within the Global Biotherapeutics Discovery (BtD) at our US headquarters in Ridgefield, CT.  The Ridgefield campus, along with our sister sites in Texas and California, includes a thriving community of postdocs and PhD students that connects globally with their peers on our European campuses.

As a Postdoctoral Fellow, you will be responsible for conducting independent research under the direct guidance of experienced NBE-PK experts. You will interact with individuals from different disciplinary (including mentors, fellow researchers, and collaborators from NBE-PK Group as well as other departments), and help to foster a collaborative research environment that facilitates exchange of knowledge and ideas. Your research will be focused on developing PK/PD models for guiding informed decision-making and translation to clinic of different biotherapeutic modalities (e.g. multi-specific antibodies, gene therapies) and contribute to Boehringer-Ingelheim's innovative and growing pipeline. You will be expected to present your work to internal leadership and publish your findings in leading journals within the field.

Duties & Responsibilities

With support from their advisor and team, the ideal candidate is expected to:

  • Develop pre-clinical PK/PD and/or quantitative systems pharmacology models that enhance decision making for target/candidate selections and inform translational research strategies by integrating in vitro and in vivo nonclinical and clinical data of different biotherapeutics (e.g. Gene therapies, Multispecific antibodies, etc).
  • Utilize mechanism-based PK/PD modeling approach to capture and simulate the biological/physiological processes related to drug administration and response.
  • Explore the utilization of data generated from in vitro and in vivo studies to improve model parameterization and validation.
  • Explore innovative approaches applicable for pre-clinical to human translation of the model.
  • Design and conduct independent research; communicate and present findings.
  • Collaborate with other researchers within and outside Boehringer Ingelheim.
  • Effectively communicate and defend own work in the context of team and department goals, both orally and in writing, using appropriate data analysis techniques and visualization tools.
