




Our financial services client in Charlotte, NC is looking for an Associate Director of Product Manager - Payments to join their Servicing team, within their Credit Cards division, overseeing payment innovation across their digital properties. This is a full-time, direct hire position, that will be onsite 2-3 days per week. This role will have one direct report, with potential for team to grow further underneath them.
While the preference is for this person to be located in Charlotte, NC they are open to someone in Wilmington DE as well.
This role will be pivotal in ensuring payment offerings continue to evolve in an effort to improve customer experience while also supporting business goals. The Associate Director of Product Management - Payments will own the strategy and roadmap across the credit card payments area. The ideal candidate must have experience managing payments products, have strong understanding of payment orchestration platforms, AND familiarity with the OKR framework.
Associate Director of Product Management - Payments Responsibilities:
- Manage the payments roadmap to deliver on Key Results and Outcomes, using previous payments experience to explore alternative payment platforms and innovation in the space.
- Identify and drive strategic initiatives within the payments function, staying on top of market and customer expectations.
- Manage relationships with external vendors, fostering collaboration for smooth integration and implementations.
- Use understanding of payment orchestration to explore opportunities to create own platform and/or unique functionalities.
- Gain a deep understanding of customer needs and pain points through data analysis and direct user interactions.
- Communicate status updates, strategic risks, key dependencies, progress against objectives, and wins to team leaders.
- Partner closely with cross-functional team members across product, design, engineering, operations, and analytics to ensure alignment, prioritization, and delivery across launches.
Associate Director of Product Management - Payments Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience working on financial consumer products; payments experience a must
- Minimum 4 years in a fast-paced environment such as a startup or fintech.
- Demonstrated experience with online payment systems, regulations, and industry innovations.
- Proven success in launching or managing new products or experiences, with a focus on execution details.
- Experience creating a product vision and strategy and aligning it across cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with a Product Operating Model and the OKR framework.
- Extensive hands-on experience leading scrum teams and proficiency in writing detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability for the payments domain.
