One of our most challenging new fields is Microelectronics Design and Applications (MDA), which combines the unique properties of superconductivity and quantum mechanics to develop radical new energy-efficient computing systems. Our team is chartered with providing the skills to transform computing beyond Moore's Law, advancing development of computer architectures, processing/memory subsystems, and large-scale high-performance computing systems. MDA is seeking an Engineer Software with demonstrated ability to support our innovative MDA team in support of emerging supercomputing technologies.
What You'll get to Do:
Our Software Engineers develop and support next-generation supercomputing capabilities including simulations, algorithms, test automation, and data management and analysis capabilities. You will be a part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation leveraging model-based Engineering, DevSecOps, and Agile practices as we continue to evolve how we deliver critical national defense products and capabilities for the warfighter. As a Principal Software Engineer, you will leverage your software development skills and be responsible for all phases of the software development lifecycle including design, development, and testing.
This position is contingent on clearance.
This position will serve 100% on-site in Linthicum/ Annapolis Junction, MD.
Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or comparable degree
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in the software development arena (0 years with a MS degree)
• Experience with best practices in software design, Continuous Integration / Continuous Deliver (CI/CD) tools and processes, and object-oriented programming.
• Familiarity with the Agile methodology of software development.
• Extensive experience with a wide range of object-oriented programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, etc.
• Experience with the Agile software development lifecycle
• Experience developing and communicating software architecture and design constructs
• Candidates must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph
Preferred Qualifications:
Current US DoD TS/SCI with polygraph clearance.

Salary Range: $85,400 - $128,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
