Job Description:
Immediate Opening for a Cybersecurity Engineer
Location: Tampa, Florida
Position Overview: The Cybersecurity Engineer will research, evaluate, and implement new cybersecurity applications and technologies to enhance USCENTCOM's security infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity best practices and the ability to work closely with USCENTCOM's IT and business teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Research and evaluate new cybersecurity applications and technologies.
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to design and implement solutions.
- Configure and deploy cybersecurity tools for USCENTCOM's enterprise.
- Analyze security alerts and incidents, taking appropriate action.
- Provide technical support and guidance to teams and end-users.
- Stay updated with cybersecurity trends and threats.
- Develop and maintain documentation for solutions.
- Participate in security audits and compliance activities.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Tune system performance and maintain documentation.
- Interact with end-users and evaluate vendor products.
- Interface with third-party vendors for troubleshooting.
- Schedule, plan, and oversee system upgrades.
- Troubleshoot and remediate security system issues.
- Review and prepare documentation for systems and processes.
- Support projects to enhance efficiency, capability, or security.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to address operational needs.
- Provide technical guidance to junior administrators and team members.
- Produce data sets and informational packets for management.
Required Qualifications:
- Applicable DoD 8140 or DoD 8570 Certification
- Active TS/SCI
Desired Qualifications:
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- ITIL 4 Foundation Certification
- Experience with USCENTCOM environment and/or familiarity with its mission
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and industry standards.
- Experience in cross-functional IT teams and projects.
- Proven experience in systems administration and infrastructure management in Windows/Linux environments.
- Experience in researching and implementing new cybersecurity applications and technologies.
- Ability to prepare comprehensive documentation for systems integrations.
- Experience with cybersecurity tools and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption technologies.
- Experience building/maintaining virtual servers & appliances.
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with security tools such as ForeScout, Splunk, Tychon, Elastic, Trellix, Swimlane/SOAR, etc.
- Experience building cybersecurity solutions in the cloud and/or as a container.
- Experience coding/scripting in Python/PowerShell
